Asus has unveiled it’s new Fonepad, a 7 inch tablet with full voice and data capabilities. There are no docking tricks here, this is strictly a tablet, but one that can make calls and crush data on the go over HSPA+ networks.
The new tablet is powered by a new 1.2GHz Intel Atom Z2420 processor. It runs Android 4.1 and features an HD display with IPS technology for wide viewing angles and clarity. The tablet has 1GB of RAM, and use a PowerVR SGX540 chip for processing graphics. It weighs 340 grams and has a slim 10.4mm profile. The device sports a 3-megapixel rear camera with auto focus and a 1.2-megapixel front camera.

The tablet is ultimately being sold as a device for viewing and consuming content on a larger screen, but that still has the ability to do the basics, like make phone calls. tablet will be go on official sales from March and the basic 8GB model will be reportedly priced to €219.
